Radical G – Shadowdancing (remixes from _Unsubscribe_ aka Dave Clarke & Mr. Jones and George Lanham)

First up in 2012 is Belgian producer Radical G with ‘Shadowdancing’. If you know your electronic music, think somewhere between Gesaffelstein and Belgian bands such as The Neon Judgement and Front 242. There’s no denial the Belgians have a fond taste for the darker side of the spectrum.

And who do you turn to for remixes when you’ve got dark material and run a techno label? Dave Clarke and Mr. Jones aka _Unsubscribe_ of course! If you think you’ve heard it all, you will stand corrected.

The Public Stand’s Rolf Mulder explains: “I remember vividly when the Unsubscribe guys came by Studio80 in Amsterdam (where I do my weekly radio show), letting me hear the end result of their remix…. me, huge speakers and Mr. Jones popping in a fresh CD of their remix. More than seven minutes of hypnotizing synth work accompanied by the scariest sound FX I’ve ever come across in techno. If there was an award for evil FX I’d hand it to these fellas.”

So you can imagine the kind of pressure the second artist was up against when asked to provide the other remix. “I really wanted him onboard as he is the man these days who takes it to the max”, says Rolf when talking about audio distortionist, George Lanham. With his recent ‘Fear As A Tool’ release garnering amazing feedback (check the TPS website) it was an easy choice and what a great job he’s done to add some pure evil energy that’s drenched in his signature Lanham sound.

Comments: I personally downloaded this release this time, common it’s The Public Stand. Hey did Rolf ever got to respond to one of my Emails? I still want to hang out with him, and get tips on new artists and stuff. I wish he was A&R for Minus as well. Uber toll release. I wish I could have Dave Clarke and Mr. Jones on Minus some day too. Rolf would you mind putting in a good word for me?

Comments:Radical G is fast becoming a favourite producer. Taking EBM synth and
stomp into techno territory. _Unsubscribe_’s remix is wow. So happy to have
Clarke back in the studio and with Mr. Jones, you couldn’t get a better hook-up
with what these guys are putting together. A masterful remix. Lanham’s effort
keeps the hardness of G’s original and goes darkside with it, that siren-like
synth sucking you right in.

melody shifts around the beat. Will turn quite a few heads. Full support.
